Part 1: Description

As a future CUNY MED MD, I aspire to be ambitious but reflective, compassionate but treated with respect, and inquisitive but consistent with my academic learning. My ultimate goal as a MD is to balance the intellectual rigor given by the biomedical/medical school courses I take with the emotional intelligence necessary to interact with and treat patients in real life. Not only do I desire to learn about the biological and chemical contexts of life, but also apply these concepts with ease in communication with my patients. As a learner, I desire to be comfortable with failure, so I can help my patients through times where they feel the same way. I hope to gain skills outside of simply learning to aid my emotional and mental growth to become a mature, respectful, and multi-talented physician. Such skills include seeking improvement with constructive feedback, collaboration with medical professionals, and constantly striving for health equity.
